Accounting Rules

Accounting rules determine standard principles by which to measure and interpret the financial situation of companies, organizations,and public agencies. Rules exist on the national level (German "Handelsgesetzbuch"- HGB;US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - US GAAP) and international level (International Financial Reporting Standards - IFRS).
